Well, here I am well re-planted in sunny south west Florida.

The weather is awesome and having my own place is the bee's knees!

I'm so far succesfully self sustained!

Been here since October, and after a hurricane, car trouble, 4 jobs and relatives it seems things have finally settled down enough to get the real real life stuff going.

I'm planning on going down to the New Orleans area next Saturday to help with animal rescue the relief efforts.
I have the skills of my veterinary technician and animal rescue training to offer.
I might be renting a U-Haul and driving down to take some pet supply donations my boss and I have gathered.

If your interested in coming with me for a driving buddy and to help out as well, please let me know.

This morning I see our Commander and Chief has pulled 10.5 billion dollars out of his ass!! WOW!
He made emergency funds appear like magic!

Of course since all of the country's extra money had already been spent on finding non-existent weapons of mass destruction, It's a done deal that neither I nor my child will have Social Security to retire on, yeah I still had a little hope that some of the SS would be around, false hope of which is totally gone so it dosn't matter.....

thanks for the economy shuffle GW!!...really appreciate it!!

Don't get me wrong, the 10.5 billion dollars sure will make all the dead folks feel better when it gets to them too late.

I bet 10.5 million dollars in Emergency Preparedness would have made one hell of a smooth evacuation.

Southern Louisiana Red Cross Link. If you haven't donated please do. $5 here and there adds up. New Orleans is in my prayers.

Here's an email I got from my dad:Collapse ) Sums up my thoughts on the situation.

I had a great Cruise and was fortunate enough to not get slammed by the hurricane. I actually didn't even know about it until after it had crossed over Florida. Isolation has it's perks I guess.

Kiddo and I had the most awesome week though!
I feel re-born :)

Kiddo has a cold and I have to force her to go to camp.

I feel shitty about this, but what to do what to do.

I have to buy an extra week of camp because of work and one weeks pay pay's for one week of camp. It really doesn't make sense.

It's supposed to top out at around 105 degrees again today.

YAY!

Just me and kiddo off to Bermuda soon!
I can't wait!

I even have a tan!! OMG, I haven't had a tan in years...I don't tan so it's even cooler to actually have a tan.
Of course I owe much of it to getting robbed at six flags, but whatever.
Point is, I'm tan for my cruise so I can SPF 45 myself and not ruin my vacation with sunburn and STILL not have that pastey look on the pool deck.
PLUS I'm 2 pounds away from a weight loss goal I set for the cruise when I booked it.
That way I can abuse the all inclusive food!! yes!

7 days of cruise and Bermuda! The boat and
Bermuda!
Can't wait until I have some money to spend on cruise supplies.

I need a new towel
a dress for "formal night" (that should be interesting)
2 pairs of new shoes since all of mine have recently turned to dust and scrap material.
and at least one cute skirt

Kiddo needs a bunch of stuff to.
I bought her practice snorkeling gear and her flippers are already worn out, but she's a snorkeling pro now.
She does much better than me that's for sure.

**Happy Dance**
